February 2007 The Fire Suppression Systems
Association marked its 25th Anniversary at its annual meeting.
The Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA) is an
organization of manufacturers, suppliers, and designer-installers,
dedicated to providing fire protection for special hazard areas.
The FSSA is extremely active in the NFPA standards process, provides
educational opportunities for members, user of special hazards fire
suppression systems, architects and engineers. To learn more about
this special association, you may visit their website at

February 2007 The ROC for NFPA 2001 standard on
Clean Agent Fire Suppression systems is available on the NFPA website.
The ROC contains a requirement for increased minimum design
concentrations for Class C hazards. New data, developed after the
Technical Committee approved the ROC, indicates that the currently
required concentrations are likely sufficient for many Class C hazards.
The proposed new requirement is likely to be the subject of a floor
motion to be debated at the 2007 annual NFPA meeting in Boston. To see more,

December 2006 NFPA has certified a NITMAM on the
proposed NFPA 12 standard (carbon dioxide). The NITMAM was
submitted by by Guardian Services, Inc.' Tom Wysocki.

February 2006 GSI's Tom Wysocki completes his first year of
service as the Technical Director of the Fire Suppression Systems
Association (FSSA). The FSSA is the world's premier trade
association dedicated to the advancement of special hazards fire
extinguishing system technology. For more information on the FSSA,

January 2005 The new NFPA handbook on "Fire Protection for
Special Hazards" is now available. GSI's Tom Wysocki contributed his years
of experience as designer, installer, and expert witness as author of the
chapter on carbon dioxide systems.
